Compatible Flight Simulators

Compatible Simulators

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 – Compatible
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Compatible
  • X-Plane 12 – Compatible using XTextureExtractor
  • X-Plane 11 – Not tested; however, it is expected to work using the same XTextureExtractor method as X-Plane 12

Microsoft Flight Simulator Compatibility

The cockpit screens function as standard external monitors and do not require dedicated DesktopCockpits software. The required instruments can be opened as separate windows using your aircraft’s native pop-out function, MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager or GlassOut (which is paid third-party software).

Once popped out, the PFD, ND, standby and ECAM displays can simply be moved and positioned onto the cockpit screens. The method required will depend on your chosen aircraft, as certain instruments may not support native pop-outs.

X-Plane Compatibility

If your aircraft’s PFD, ND, standby and ECAM displays can be successfully extracted using XTextureExtractor, they can simply be moved and positioned onto the cockpit screens.

We recommend testing XTextureExtractor with your chosen aircraft before purchasing to confirm that the required displays can be extracted correctly and that performance is acceptable. X-Plane 12 has been tested successfully with the ToLiss A320neo.

XTextureExtractor, Pop Out Panel Manager, GlassOut and supported aircraft are third-party products outside our control. Future updates, discontinued support or other changes that prevent display extraction would not constitute a fault with the physical cockpit or provide grounds for a return outside your applicable statutory rights.

Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether your simulator setup is compatible.

Compatible Aircraft

Aircraft Compatibility

Microsoft Flight Simulator

The cockpit is compatible with:

  • Fenix Airbus A319, A320 and A321
  • FlyByWire A320neo
  • iniBuilds A320neo*
  • iniBuilds A321LR*

*The ISIS display cannot be popped out natively and requires GlassOut.

Compatibility is not limited to the aircraft listed above. If your chosen aircraft allows the required PFD, ND, standby and ECAM instruments to be popped out and moved onto another monitor, they can simply be dragged and positioned onto the cockpit screens.

Before ordering, we recommend testing your chosen aircraft to ensure that all the required instruments can be popped out simultaneously, moved onto an external monitor and run with acceptable performance.

X-Plane 12

The cockpit is compatible with:

  • ToLiSS Airbus aircraft

Tested successfully on Windows with both the Standard Definition and High Definition versions of the ToLiSS A320neo. It will also work with other ToLiSS Airbus aircraft.

Other aircraft may work provided their PFD, ND, standby and ECAM displays can be extracted and moved onto external screens. Put simply, if you can successfully pop out the required instruments and move them onto another monitor, they can be positioned on the cockpit screens in exactly the same way.

We recommend testing your chosen aircraft with XTextureExtractor before ordering to confirm correct operation and acceptable performance.

Here is a helpful XTextureExtractor setup video.

Third-Party Compatibility Notice

Compatibility is based on the simulator, aircraft and software versions available at the time of testing. Simulators, aircraft and required display software are third-party products outside our control. Future updates, changes or discontinued support may affect compatibility.

Loss of compatibility caused by a third-party update or change would not constitute a fault with the physical cockpit or provide grounds for a return outside your applicable statutory rights.

If you are unsure whether your aircraft or simulator setup is compatible, please contact us before ordering.

PC specifications

Computer Specifications and Operating-System Compatibility

These specifications provide a general guide. Performance can vary depending on your simulator, aircraft, graphics settings, add-ons, scenery and the number of displays connected.

  • RAM: 64 GB
  • VRAM: 12 GB
  • Available storage: 50 GB
  • Internet bandwidth: 100 Mbps
  • Operating system: Windows 10 with the latest updates

Meeting these specifications does not guarantee a particular frame rate or level of performance. Please complete the pop-out display test with your chosen aircraft before ordering.

Mac Compatibility

Mac computers are supported only when using X-Plane. Microsoft Flight Simulator is not supported on macOS, and its compatible third-party aircraft and instrument pop-out methods require Windows.

Mac users must meet or exceed the recommended system requirements for X-Plane 12. Apple Silicon and at least 16–24 GB of unified memory are recommended.

Before ordering, Mac users should test XTextureExtractor with their chosen aircraft and confirm that all required instruments can be extracted, moved onto external displays and operated simultaneously with acceptable performance.

Display Connections

Required connections

The cockpit requires 2 × available display outputs for the cockpit screens

The two display outputs required for the cockpit are in addition to any outputs already being used by your main monitor or other displays.

If your PC does not have enough available display outputs, it may be possible to use a USB-to-HDMI adapter to add an additional extended display. The adapter must support extending the Windows desktop, rather than only duplicating or mirroring an existing display.

Display cables and adapters

The cockpit includes two 2 m Mini HDMI-to-HDMI cables as standard. You should therefore have two available HDMI connections.

If you do not have two available HDMI ports but have DisplayPort connections available, you can upgrade to Mini HDMI-to-DisplayPort cables during checkout.

Alternatively, a compatible USB-to-HDMI adapter can be used to create additional display outputs. We have successfully tested the following adapter on Amazon:

  • ABLEWE USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter with USB 3.0 Port

This adapter allows two HDMI displays to be connected through a compatible USB 3.0 port. Any required adapters must be purchased separately, and performance may vary depending on your PC, USB connection, drivers and simulator setup.

HDMI splitters are not supported because they duplicate an existing display rather than creating a separate extended display.

Instrument Pop-Outs & Required Software

Instrument Pop-Outs and Required Software

The cockpit screens operate as standard external displays connected to your computer and do not require dedicated DesktopCockpits software.

To display your flight instruments, the PFD, ND, ECAM and standby instruments must first be opened as separate windows. These windows can then be moved from your main simulator display and positioned onto the cockpit screens.

The method used depends on your simulator and aircraft.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 - Windows Only

There are three display options:

Option 1: Native Microsoft Flight Simulator Pop-Outs

Compatible instruments can be opened as separate windows using Right Alt (AltGr) + left-click. They can then be moved and resized manually across the cockpit screens.

Native pop-out availability varies between aircraft. Some instruments, such as the iniBuilds ISIS display, cannot be popped out natively.

Option 2: MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager - Free

MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager is a free third-party application that automates the positioning and sizing of compatible instrument windows.

It can save your preferred layout, avoiding the need to reposition every instrument manually before each flight. It still uses Microsoft Flight Simulator’s native pop-out windows and may therefore have a similar effect on performance.

Option 3: GlassOut - Paid

GlassOut is a paid third-party application that provides an alternative way to display instruments on the cockpit screens.

It supports instruments that may not be available as native pop-outs and can reduce the performance impact associated with Microsoft Flight Simulator’s native pop-out windows.

X-Plane 11/12 - Windows or Mac

X-Plane users can use the free third-party XTextureExtractor plugin to extract their aircraft’s PFD, ND, ECAM and standby displays.

Once extracted, the instrument windows can be moved and positioned onto the cockpit screens. If you can successfully extract the required instruments and move them onto another monitor, they can be used with the cockpit screens in exactly the same way.

X-Plane 12 has been tested successfully with both the Standard Definition and High Definition versions of the ToLiSS A320neo.

Performance Test Before Ordering

Before ordering, test your chosen aircraft, simulator and computer by opening all the required instruments simultaneously:

  • PFD
  • ND
  • ECAM
  • Standby instruments

Confirm that they display correctly and that simulator performance remains acceptable.

Watch our Microsoft Flight Simulator pop-out compatibility test

MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager, GlassOut and XTextureExtractor are third-party applications and are not included with the cockpit. Their availability and continued compatibility are controlled by their respective developers.

Power Requirements

Power requirements

The cockpit includes two USB-A power cables for the display screens. These can normally be connected directly to your computer.

However, the amount of power supplied by USB ports varies between computers. If your PC cannot provide sufficient power to both displays, you may experience:

  • Screen flickering
  • Intermittent operation
  • Displays repeatedly connecting and disconnecting
  • One or both displays switching off

Alternative power supply

If your computer cannot supply sufficient power, connect both USB power cables to a locally compliant dual-port USB-A mains charger that can provide at least:

  • 24 W total output
  • 5 V/4.8 A combined output
  • 5 V/2.4 A from each port simultaneously

Tested power options

We have successfully tested the following:

  • Duracell Dual 24W USB-A Charger — available with UK and EU plug options
  • Belkin BoostCharge Dual USB-A 24W Charger — regional versions are available for several countries
  • TP-Link UH720 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub — using its two dedicated 5 V/2.4 A fast-charging ports

When using the TP-Link UH720, both display power cables must be connected to the two dedicated fast-charging ports. Its standard USB data ports may not provide sufficient power for both displays.

Please purchase the correct plug version for your country from the manufacturer or a reputable local retailer. Always check the specifications before purchasing, as similarly named charger models may provide different power outputs.

A mains power adapter or powered USB hub is not included with the cockpit. Customers are responsible for purchasing a suitable, locally compliant power solution if their computer cannot provide sufficient USB power.

  • Import duties
  • Local taxes
  • Customs-clearance charges
  • Carrier or brokerage fees

These charges are not included in the product or shipping price and are the buyer’s responsibility. UK orders are not subject to import duties.

UPS / DHL or the relevant customs authority may contact you for additional information, identification or payment before releasing your parcel. Customers are responsible for responding to these requests and providing any information required for customs clearance.

DesktopCockpits cannot control additional charges, inspections or delays imposed by customs authorities or the carrier acting on their behalf.

Our products are generally shipped under HS code 9504.50. However, the final tariff classification and any applicable charges are determined by the customs authority in the destination country.

For estimated import charges and country-specific shipping information, please view our international shipping guide.

Import estimates are provided for guidance only. The final amount charged may vary depending on the destination country, exchange rate, customs assessment and carrier fees.

Product Care

Product care

To protect your cockpit and preserve its appearance:

  • Keep it away from direct sunlight and sources of heat
  • Do not place it near radiators, heaters or other hot equipment
  • Avoid exposing it to moisture or liquids
  • Clean it gently using a soft, dry cloth
  • Do not use solvents, alcohol-based cleaners or abrasive cleaning products

Handmade finish

Each cockpit contains individually manufactured and assembled 3D-printed components. As a result, you may notice:

  • Minor layer or surface lines
  • Small variations in colour or texture
  • Slightly visible adhesive in some assembled areas
  • Other small cosmetic variations associated with 3D printing and hand assembly

These minor characteristics are a normal part of the manufacturing process and do not affect the cockpit’s operation or durability.

Returns & Technical Support

Returns and technical support

Because each cockpit is produced to order using the configuration and options selected by the customer, we do not accept change-of-mind returns where the product qualifies as custom-made or made to the customer’s specifications.

This does not affect your statutory rights if your cockpit is faulty, damaged upon arrival or not as described.

Technical support is available if you experience any problems setting up or using your cockpit. Please contact us before attempting to modify, repair or return the product so that we can help diagnose the issue.

Please check compatibility before ordering

If you intend to use native Microsoft Flight Simulator pop-outs or MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager, your PC must be capable of running four instrument windows simultaneously.

Watch our PC pop-out compatibility test

Reduced simulator performance caused by your PC specification, graphics settings, third-party software or native MSFS pop-out windows does not indicate a fault with the cockpit.

EU right of withdrawal

EU customers normally have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of delivery.

However, this right does not apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. Where your cockpit is produced specifically according to the configuration and custom options selected when ordering, it may fall within this exemption.

This exemption does not affect your legal rights if the product is faulty, damaged or not as described.
